required Certifications
A requirement for a dan grade, coaching and teaching credential is to have certain valid and current certifications.
These include:
- SafeSport
- Concussion Training
- First Aid/CPR certification
- Background report
Depending upon the NGO these certifications are mandatory
Please find attached memos with instructions for concussion training and certification through the CDC’s Heads Up program or NFHS’s Concussion in Sports program. Both of these programs are free.
As many of us have allowed some of our certifications to lapse due to COVID restrictions and the closing of our dojos, we take this opportunity to encourage all teachers, instructors, and coaches to renew all of their certifications and bring them current in preparation for reopening…
